Biography
Don is an associate attorney at Boyd Boyd & Giddens who primarily practices in the areas of civil insurance defense and personal injury law.
Don was born in Texas City, Texas but grew up mostly in Austin, where he attended high school and the University of Texas.
He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston just after the 9/11 tragedy and joined the U.S. Army JAG Corps the following January. He spent the next 15 years in the JAG Corps where he served in different roles, from legal assistance advisor to soldiers, to criminal prosecutor, to command legal advisor for operational, finance and policy issues. During his service Don proudly deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Army’s First Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Don went on to earn an L.L.M. in Military Law from the U.S. Army’s school called, The Judge Advocate’s Legal Center and School, in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2010.
Don is a devout Longhorn sports fan, from football to volleyball and everything in between, but supports all Texas teams when they’re not the opponent. Don also serves as an officer at his local American Legion, in support of all Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, and the local community. He is also a lifetime member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Society of the First Infantry Division.
